Water Lily

We got Lily a pool, again for our own amusement, and she took her first official swim once the temperature hit a balmy 94 degrees this past weekend. Cincinnati = The humidity capital of the world. I think it must have been a rain forest when it was discovered by the Vikings because the heat is just unreal. I've lived her for nearly 1o years, collectively, and I cannot accept reality. Every winter I foolishly look forward to summer when no matter what you're wearing it feels like a wool turtleneck sweater. Scratchy wool, not the soft bunny-like stuff.

Anyways, I am quite sure you don't give a hoot about the weather. You just want to love you some Lily and I can't blame you one bit. So here are some of Lily's best summer pics to date. I particularly enjoy the one where she's in the towel...her expression is somewhere between "Are you kidding me?" and "Do they realize I'm not wearing a diaper?"

Lily does seem to enjoy the pool and we are looking forward to more swimming. I would like to caution other parents that when purchasing said pool, carefully consider the length of your own legs/volume of water you displace if you actually plan to be in the pool as well. If there are any midget couples out there and you want a free pool give us a call - we have one your size. Bonus points to anyone who names the scientist who conducted the famous water displacement experiment.
